Alternate number plate days to combat smog in Rome.

Rome has banned all private vehicles with odd-numbered licence plates from circulating within the city’s green belt (the area inside the GRA ring road) on Monday 16 November from 07.30 to 12.30 and from 16.30 to 20.30.

The next day, Tuesday 17 November, vehicles with even-numbered plates are affected by the same ban at the same times. The traffic legislation is determined by the final figure of the vehicle’s registration plate.

The move follows the traffic ban on Sunday 15 November, in operation from 07.30 to 12.30, and from 16.30 until 20.30.
