Celebrating Festa della Mamma in Rome.

Mother's Day, known in Italian as Festa della Mamma, is celebrated in Italy on Sunday 12 May 2019. In Rome there are numerous activities aimed at families wishing to mark the special day.

At MAXXI there is free entry to mothers who are accompanied by their children while for a family-day out to the Bioparco there is a reduced €3 fare for mothers.

Alternative options include the I Love Mum Day at Monk Club, helping the kids make a miniature garden at Hortus Urbis, an animated visit to Bracciano Castle, Strawberry Shortcake Sundaes as part of Mama Rocks at the Hard Rock Cafe, and free entry to mothers at Rainbow Magicland.

This weekend also coincides with Open House Roma, offering guided tours of more than 200 of Rome's most fascinating buildings, as well as the Festa del Verde e del Paesaggio, the popular annual gardening show in the roof gardens of the Auditorium Parco della Musica.
