The political group Social Alternative, led by Alessandra Mussolini, has been re-admitted to the race for the elections in the Lazio region of Italy on 3-4 April. Mussolinis party was stopped from running when the regional electoral committee declared that it had uncovered irregularities in the lists of signatories supporting their candidacy. A regional administrative court confirmed the ban. This ruling has now been overturned at a higher appeals court. This means that Mussolini can re-enter the election against the current president of the region, Francesco Storace, from the right wing party Alleanza Nazionale, and Piero Marazzo, a television personality running as an independent for the centre-left LUnione group of parties.
