The national 24-hour public transport strike that had been scheduled for Friday 16 November has been postponed until Friday 14 December.
The strike has been called by the Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugltrasporti and Faisa Cisal trade unions in protest over the fact that the national transport sector workers’ contract has yet to be renewed by the government since it expired at the end of 2007.
The protest was deferred following negotiations between Italy's labour ministry and the unions.
