National transport strike set for 7 July.
Italian labour unions have announced a 24-hour national transport strike for 7 July. Public transport will stop at midnight on 6 July and, except for minimum guaranteed service, will remain out of service until midnight on 7 July.
In Rome, all public transport including buses, trams, the two metro lines, and regional trains (Roma-Lido, Roma-Pantano and Roma-Civitacastellana-Viterbo) will be affected from midnight on 6 July until the beginning of day service on the morning of 7 July, and then from 8.30 to 17.00 and from 20.00 until midnight. Minimum service is guaranteed at the following times: from the beginning of day service until 8.29 and from 17.01 to 19.59.
Services connected to public transport such as ticket offices and call centres will also be effected.
