New hours are cut and dried.
Romes hairdressers, barbers and beauty centres can now open on Mondays thanks to a new city council ruling. From now on they may remain open six days if they wish, and can work between 07.00 and 22.00, as long as they do not exceed 13 hours each day. They may also open seven days from 1 December until 6 January, except for public holidays, one of their busiest seasons.
The move is designed to meet the changing lifestyles of their customers and to bring them in line with the more flexible shopping hours.
Hairdressers who want to work five days a week are now allowed to choose the day on which they will be closed, as long as they inform their local council office.
