New international Christian church in Rome

Rome International Church launches on 25 January

The Rome International Church holds its first public worship service at St George's British International School in the La Storta district of north Rome at 11.00 on 25 January.

The English-speaking church describes itself as a "creative community of Christians seeking to follow Christ" and says its multisensory worship experience is enhanced through the creative arts as well as powerpoint and video clips. The church's beliefs are centred around the teachings of the Bible and it hopes to build a “loving Christian community” in the Cassia area of Rome. It also plans to involve its adult members in a series of groups within the church by assigning them duties such as worship, hospitality, outreach, prayer and ministry.

The Rome International Church has the support of the International Baptist Convention, although financially it is dependant on donations from its community.

Led by pastor Rev. Brian Kirby from the US, the church's services will be held on Sundays at 11.00 at St George's British International School, Via Cassia km 16.
