New parking fees.
In the latest changes by the Rome city councils to its parking regulations there will be an increase in parking fees for non-residents (from 1 per hour to 1.50 per hour) in central areas. But in other areas close to hospitals or where there are limited public transport services available, there may be a reduction in the fee to 0.50. Around the hospitals the hours for paid parking are from 8.00-23.00.
In other areas the parking tariffs may be applied between the hours of 07.00 and 03.00, although this also depends on the level of public transport available in any given area. The Campidoglio has also budgeted to promote parking for drivers who car-share or car-pool, as well as offering annual parking space subscriptions for certain types of drivers.
