New station for Monteverde.
The new station at Viale dei Quattro Venti in Monteverde on the FR3 Rome-Cesano-Viterbo train line was officially inaugurated in November. All trains now stop at Quattro Venti, between the S. Pietro and Trastevere stations. The FR3 line carries up to 60,000 passengers a day during the week, and Quattro Venti will see 139 trains each day one every 8 minutes in either direction during rush hour and every 15 minutes at other times. The station is equipped with escalators and lifts for the disabled as well as a140-space car park and an area for up to 40 scooters and motorbikes. State railway company RFI said the total cost of the new work, including the construction of a second tunnel between S. Pietro and Trastevere, was 87 million.
