The terminus of the Number 8 tram has moved temporarily to Piazza Benedetto Cairoli, about 100m before the original terminus at Largo Arenula, on the corner of Largo di Torre Argentina.
The terminus is an interim measure to facilitate the decommissioning of tram tracks in front of Teatro Argentina which will become a pedestrianised area.
Meanwhile works continue to extend the tramline along Via Florida and Via delle Botteghe Oscure towards its eventual new terminus in Piazza S. Marco, just off Piazza Venezia.
