Yesterday the board of directors of Newco Roma, a company controlled by the Sensi family and Unicredit (both owners of the football team), has opened negotiations for the acquisition of AS Roma by the US consortium led by Thomas Di Benedetto.

As from today (the 16th of February), Unicredit and the Sensi family, will start formal negotiations for the sale of the AS Roma football club over the next thirty days or so.

Meanwhile, the official website of AS Roma, has confirmed the negotiations stating that "the decision to undertake a period of exclusive negotiation with the US company of Di Benedetto was taken as the US offer was the most competitive bid among those submitted.
