No traffic at night.
The night-time traffic ban in the centre of Rome comes into effect again on Saturday 20 August after a short summer break. From 23.00 until 03.00 on Friday and Saturday nights, the zones of the city, which are restricted to permit holders only, will be closed to all but residents. The closing of the city centre on weekend nights was introduced earlier in the summer following outbreaks of violence and protests from residents about high noise levels. Night-time public transport services into the city centre will be increased, with trams and buses running until the early hours of the morning. For information call the free phone line of the bus company Atac: 800431784.
