2.5 million turn out for Notte Bianca
City authorities are hailing the Notte Bianca which took place on Saturday night (9 Sept) as a great success for culture and the economy. Around 2.5 million people filled the capitals streets to take advantage of the 400 events in the free entertainment programme and to visit museums and shops that stayed open all night. The event generated profits of 91 million from a total turnover of 131 million, of which 24 million are destined to increase state revenue.
The mayor has already announced that there will be another Notte Bianca next year.
