Reductions are on offer this summer at 30 bathing establishments at Ostia, the Roman seaside resort, under a scheme organised as part of the Romaspendebene campaign. This is an agreement between the city authorities and the local chamber of commerce to encourage shopkeepers and artisans to offer some goods and services at discounted prices.

The bathing establishments taking part in the scheme will offer a discount of 20 per cent on the rental of cabins, umbrellas and beach loungers from Monday to Friday from 15.00-19.00. At weekends there is a 2 discount for anyone who can show a ticket to prove that they got to the beach on public transport. Information about the establishments taking part in the offer is printed on buses going to the beach, and at the railway stations on the line to Ostia.
