Parking times in the blue parking lines in Testaccio have been increased from 08.00-23.00 to 08.00-03.00 seven days a week. In addition, parking meters have been introduced in the Piazza Orazio Giustiniani-Via di Monte Testaccio area, although here the usual 1.00 per hour fee is a reduced 0.50 for the first two hours, followed by 2 per hour for extra sixty-minute periods for up to 12 hours, when each hour is then charged at 3.00. Testaccio is renowned for its colourful nightlife, and the new measures are aimed at helping residents get a good nights sleep by regulating the flow of traffic looking for spaces.
