US president to visit Vatican on 24 May.
Pope Francis will meet with US president Donald Trump at the Vatican on the morning of 24 May, the Holy See press office has announced.
Trump will also meet with the Vatican's secretary of state Cardinal Pietro Parolin and with the Holy See's foreign minister, Archbishop Paul Gallagher from Liverpool.
The Vatican meeting is scheduled the day before Trump attends a NATO meeting in Brussels, following which he will take part in the G7 summit meeting in Sicily on 26 May.
In addition to Italy and the Vatican, Trump's first foreign trip as US president will include visits to Belgium, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
