Second transport strike in Rome this month
Commuters in Rome face a 24-hour public transport strike, for the second time this month, on Friday 24 October.
The strike by Rome's public transport company ATAC and suburban bus company Roma Tpl follows the usual timetable: from 08.30 to 17.00 and from 20.00 to end of service. It will affect Rome's buses, trams, metro and light rail services Roma-Lido, Roma-Giardinetti and Roma-Civitacastellana-Viterbo, while the regional coach service run by Cotral is also at risk during the same hours.
The protest also involves Ferrovie dello Stato, the state-owned company that manages the national rail network, whose workers will be on strike for eight hours, from 09.00-17.00. The action could affect the city's 27 night bus services on the night between 23 October and 24 October. For full details see Muoversi a Roma website.
