The proposed increase in the Italys IVA (VAT) rate for chocolate, from 10 per cent to 20 per cent, announced recently as part of a government fund-raising exercise,by the minister for finance, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, has been shelved. Lovers of such products as Nutella and Gianduiotti can now sleep peacefully again..
