Retake Roma stages clean-up blitz in Rome
3,000 Retake Roma volunteers clean up four areas of Rome on 31 March.
Retake Roma, the voluntary non-profit movement which tackles the capital's urban decay, is staging a massive clean-up operation in four areas of Rome on Sunday 31 March, to mark Festa della Terra.
An estimated 3,000 volunteers are expected to take part in the tidy-up marathon whose locations are themed around the four elements: Water for Canale dei Pescatori di Ostia, Air for the ATAC warehouse in Piazza Ragusa, Fire for Largo Fratelli Lumière in the north-east suburb of Tufello, and Earth for the Parco del Colle Oppio in Monti, opposite the Colosseum.
