Return of ancient Rome’s gardens
New flower gardens have been inaugurated among the ruins on the Palatine Hill in an attempt to recreate the colourful gardens of 2,000 years ago.
Entitled "Orti e giardini. Il cuore di Roma antica", the visit traces antiquity through flowers, trees, plants and vegetables.
The gardens are the result of years of study by Italian archaeologists, and along the walk visitors can read classical quotations about ancient Roman gardens. The effect of waterfalls
