Rise in Rome’s tourist numbers
There was an increase of over eight per cent in the amount of tourists that came to Rome in September compared to the same month last year, according to recently-published statistics from the bilateral tourist body for the Lazio region, EBTL.
This September saw a ten per cent increase in French, German, British and Chinese visitors. The numbers of Russian tourists grew by 13 per cent, Japan by six per cent, Mexico by nine per cent and Brazil by 12 per cent.
From January to October of this year, there has been a ten per cent overall increase in the amount of tourists holidaying in Rome, compared to 2010.
