Roma without its captain.
Disaster struck Romas football team when captain, Francesco Totti, was brought down last weekend by a foul and broke his leg six minutes into a game against Empoli. It was the day when the Roma football team won its tenth consecutive victory and it should have been a day of celebration. Instead Totti was taken to hospital where he was found to have broken his fibula and to have suffered serious damage to the ligaments in his left leg. He was operated on immediately and doctors say that he will be able to begin physiotherapy in two weeks. Italian football fans must now wait to see if the great goal scorer will be well enough to play for the country in the World Cup competition which begins for Italy on 12 June against Ghana in Hanover.
