Rome arrests London suspect.
In an international operation Rome police have arrested a suspect wanted by London police in connection with the failed bombings on the London underground on 21 July. Osman Hussain was traced to an apartment in the Casilina - Centocelle area of Rome by calls from a mobile phone to his relations in the city. He is a British citizen of Somali origin and is wanted for questioning in connection with the failed attack on the Shepherds Bush to Westbourne Park section of the underground on 21 July. He is thought to have arrived in Rome by train from Paris, via Milan and Brescia. It is not known if he will be charged with offences in Italy or extradited to Britain. According to the Rome police authorities he arrived in Rome to hide, not to organise future terrorist attacks.
London police released photos of Hussein carrying a backpack in Shepherds Bush station and then one of him later on a bus in a vest, without the backpack or the jacket he was wearing previously.
