Rome bans cigarettes and barbeques in parks
Anti-fire law in force over summer.
Rome has banned smoking and barbecues in public parks and green areas across the city from 15 June to 30 September.
The law is part of measures to prevent and reduce the risk of fires in the parks which are at particular risk during the hotter months.
The ruling, signed by Rome mayor Ignazio Marino, also prohibits the burning of grass or garden refuse, as well as the use of any equipment that produces flames or sparks
