The summer season on the Rome coast is now underway and the city public transport provider ATAC has stepped up its services for beachgoers.
The special summer 07 and 062 buses are running back and forth along the coast between Ostia and Torvaianica again this year and the 070 Express has extended its route from EUR as far as Torvaianica. Until 23 May the 07 is only running on Saturday and Sunday but from 24 May it will be in operation daily, with more regular services at weekends. The same applies to the extended 070 Express service, which is running on weekends only until 21 May inclusive, after which it will be in operation daily.
Services on the Roma-Ostia Lido railway line have also been boosted for the summer. There is now a direct rail link at weekends and on public holidays, departing from Porta S. Paolo station near Piramide at 07.45, 08.58, 11.13, 15.13, 17.43 and 19.13 and stopping only at the seafront stations of Lido Centro, Stella Polare, Castel Fusano and Cristoforo Colombo.
