Pope Francis leads Via Crucis ceremony at Colosseum on 19 April.
The Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum will close to visitors at 13.00, with last entry at midday, on Friday 19 April.
The closure comes ahead of the traditional Via Crucis ceremony on Good Friday, led by Pope Francis at the Colosseum at 21.15.
The Metro B Colosseo stop will also close at 13.00 on 19 April. Those wishing to reach the Colosseum area by metro will have to get off at either Cavour or Circo Massimo.
