Rome exhibition by Denmark's Queen Margrethe II
The capital's Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Massimo presents an exhibition of art work by Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, from 14 April to 9 September.
Entitled "Imaginary Realms", the show comprises decoupage used as backdrops for the film version of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Wild Swans".
The Danish monarch is an accomplished painter and exhibits regularly. Her illustrations - under the pseudonym "Ingahild Grathmer" - were used for the Danish edition of "The Lord of the Rings".
The queen will visit the exhibition on 13 April, accompanied by Italian president, Giorgio Napolitano.
