Rome housing sales increase
Sales of residential housing in the province of Rome increased by 24.55 per cent in 2002 compared with the previous year, and in the city of Rome they increased by 32.1 per cent, according to a report just published on Romes economy by the city department of development and resources. In 2002 sales registered in the province of Rome totaled 69,686 compared with 55,950 the previous year. In the city there were 48,688 registered sales compared with 37,176 in 2001. Registered sales of residential property in Rome city accounted for 6.39 per cent of the national total.
These increases are considerably higher than in the 2000-2001 period when registered sales in the province went up 9.63 per cent and those in the city rose by 11.5 per cent.
