Rome marathon set to break records.
The Rome marathon will take place this year on 18 March, with athletes setting off at 09.00 from Via dei Fori Imperiali on the 42k run on a course yet to be announced. A record 12,500 participants were already registered for the event by 7 February (deadline 1 March), surpassing the 2006 total of 12,300 runners. Among the athletes will be around 6,000 foreigners from over 70 different countries.
