Roma Ping Pong Fest to take place along Via dei Fori Imperiali.
Rome will host an event dedicated to ping pong on Sunday 6 October, according to an announcement by the city's mayor Virginia Raggi.
The Roma Ping Pong Fest will involve ping pong tables stationed along Via dei Fori Imperiali, the street running parallel to the Roman Forum, between Piazza Venezia and the Colosseum.
The event takes place from 10.00 until 18.30 and forms part of the #TTX Tournament, dedicated to a new "more dynamic" version of table tennis.
Raggi said the aim of Roma Ping Pong Fest is to make the sport more socially inclusive, particularly among young people, adding: "What better city than Rome to launch this important challenge?"
