Rome's A line closed between Manzoni and Ottaviano.
The partial collapse of a dropped ceiling at the central Spagna metro station has led to the closure of part of Rome's Metro A line on the morning of Monday 28 September.
The closed section is between Manzoni in the S. Giovanni area and Ottaviano – one of the stop for St Peter's. A substitute bus service is currently in operation between S.Giovanni and Ottaviano, a difficult route with heavy day-time traffic.
There were no casualties in the incident which is being investigated by the city's transport department.
