Rome's museums free for grandparents on Festa dei nonni.
On Wednesday 2 October, on the occasion of Grandparents Day, all over-65s who visit Rome's municipal museums accompanied by a grandchild will be granted free entry.
Festa dei nonni, which coincides with the Catholic church's feast day for guardian angels, has been celebrated in Italy since 2005.
Grandparents Day was first introduced in the US in 1978 following a proposal by Marian McQuade, a West Virginia grandmother of 40 grandchildren.
