Rome organises tours of rarely-opened underground sites.
More than 30 of Rome's underground sites which normally have limited public access will open for special guided tours between September and December.
The guided tours of 32 underground sites around the city are conducted by archaeologists and art historians from Rome's Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali as part of its Archeologia in Comune programme.
The city says the expert-led visits offer a "unique narrative that illustrates the excavation, restoration, management and enhancement of the sites visited, without neglecting the most amusing and less known aspects."
For full details of programme and ticket cost see the Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali website while for insights into Rome's underground sites see Wanted in Rome guide.
