Rome pays tribute to Miriam Makeba
Rome pays tribute to the late South African singer-songwriter Miriam Makeba with a programme of events and concerts from 10-13 March. The tribute is an idea of the Movimento degli Africani in Italia, an organisation working to promote the rights of African immigrants in Italy.
Highlights of the programme include a conference on 10 March dedicated to the legendary singer and anti-apartheid activist, with a focus on the emancipation of women in Africa. The conference will be on the premises of the United Nations Children
