Rome transport minister launches urban plan of sustainable mobility.

Two additional cable cars in Rome have been proposed by the city's transport councillor Linda Meleo as part of the capital's urban plan of sustainable mobility.

Known as "Pums", the piano urbano della mobilità sostenibile includes two cable car projects – in addition to the already announced Casalotti-Battistini funicular – in Magliana-Piazza Civiltà del Lavoro, south of Rome, and Ionio-Bufalotta, to the north of the capital.

Meleo's plans also include the modernisation of the Roma-Giardinetti light-rail line, as well as new tram lines connecting Via dei Fori Imperiali with Piazza Vittorio; Tiburtina station with Piazzale del Verano; and the Auditorium Parco della Musica with Piazza Risorgimento.
