ATAC and Roma TPL to hold four-hour strike.
A four-hour strike by Rome's public transport company ATAC is programmed from 08.30 to 12.30 on Tuesday 12 September.
The action will affect Rome’s buses, trams, metro and light rail services Roma-Lido, Roma-Viterbo and Termini-Centocelle.
The strike comes as the city's mayor Virginia Raggi calls on ATAC's 11,700 workers to cooperate with the implementation of a salvage plan to
rescue the debt-laden company.
However trade unions representing ATAC employees say they are striking against solutions that "endanger employment levels, salary rights and worker regulations."
Employees of Roma TPL, the capital’s suburban bus company, will also adhere to the four-strike during the same hours on 12 September. For strike details see
city website.
