Joel Nafuma Refugee Center appeals for sleeping bags for homeless.

Rome's Joel Nafuma Refugee Center (JNRC) is seeking donations of sleeping bags and blankets to help homeless asylum seekers facing the current freezing conditions in the capital.

The JNRC has set up a Needslist page through which people can donate sleeping bags as well as other winter essentials such as blankets, heavy jackets, woollens, thick winter socks and shoes.

The centre, which is based in the crypt of St Paul's Within the Walls church, is distributing the donated items to all who need them at the moment, and will continue to do so until mid-March.
