Rome remembers the Holocaust.
27 January commemorates the day in 1945 when the Russian Red Army opened the gates of Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, freeing the prisoners and revealing to the world the horrors of the Holocaust.
To mark the anniversary, on 26 January Qube (Via di Portonaccio 212, Tiburtino) will present eyewitness accounts, films and discussions about the Jewish and gay victims of the Nazi persecutions (11.00-24.00).
The Casa della Memoria e della Storia (Via S. Francesco di Sales, 5, Trastevere) will be holding three days of conferences, readings, interviews and films starting on 27 January at 10.00 with the screening of a documentary produced by the Associazione Nazionale Ex Internati on the deportation of Italian military personnel.
