Whoever eats 1 kg of spaghetti alla carbonara doesn't pay.
A carbonara challenge is taking place at Il Maritozzo Rosso restaurant in the Trastevere district of Rome, on 31 October, for Halloween.
Whoever manages to eat 1 kg of spaghetti eats for free (otherwise they pay a €38 "participation fee").
The restaurant says it has a new record, by a champion who polished off 1 kg of spaghetti in 10 minutes and 36 seconds, smashing the previous record of 18 minutes and 23 seconds.
