Italy remains top foreign country for US visitors
Rome is the second most popular international destination for US tourists this summer, after London, according to the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA).
The association’s eleventh annual Hot Spots for Summer survey revealed that Rome is in second place with an eight per cent share of votes, with London in top place with nine per cent, in the top ten international cities.
Paris is in third place, followed by Cancún in Mexico, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Barcelona, Riviera Maya in Mexico, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Montego Bay in Jamaica. New in the top ten this year are Amsterdam and Madrid, at the expense of Athens and Venice.
Italy remains the most popular country/region for US tourists this summer, at 18 per cent, followed by Mexico, France, the UK and the Caribbean.
