Mayor seeking corporate funds for restoration of Rome heritage

The mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino travels to California on 10 September to seek corporate sponsorship for the restoration of Rome's monuments.

Marino is to participate at a symposium in Silicon Valley during which he will present his plans for Rome's archaeological area to a number of patrons and donors potentially interested in sponsoring restoration work in the Italian capital.

The mayor will be joined by Rome's superintendent for cultural heritage, Claudio Parisi Presicce, and will meet the director of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco to discuss collaboration between the museums of both cities.

Marino is also conducting a fact-finding mission on waste management and environmental policies while in California.
