Rome to host second "Glocal Forum"
More than 40 mayors from all over the world will be in Rome on 24 May for the second "Glocal Forum", a conference to promote the concept of re-balancing the global and the local through a worldwide network of cities, cooperating on peace building and development projects. Mayors from cities including Washington, Moscow, New Delhi, Sao Paolo and Dakar are to attend the event. Meanwhile musician Quincy Jones, the man behind the 1985 collaboration "USA for Africa", will launch a new, youth-led peace movement the same day with the song "We are the future".
