Rome transport strike 28 May
The Sindacato Unitario Lavoratori (SUL), a small independent union of transport workers, has confirmed two strikes affecting public transport services in Rome on 28 May.
The first, from 08.30-12.30, concerns services run by the main city transport provider ATAC, which include most bus routes, the metropolitan, trams and overland train services on the lines Roma-Lido, Roma-Giardinetti and Roma-Civitacastellana-Viterbo.
The second, from 08.30-17.00 and from 20.00 until the end of services, affects the buses 077, 218, 702, 764, 767 and 768 run by the consortium Tevere Tpl.
Travellers should expect disruptions on these services during the hours of the strikes although ATAC stresses that, since SUL is only a small union, problems will be limited.
Instead the 24-hour national transport strike originally declared by trades unions confederations for 28 May has been cancelled.
