Rome’s retailers call for moratorium on demos
Retailers in Rome are asking for a moratorium on street demonstrations over the Christmas-New Year festive period. During the student protests on 30 November and the tight security cordons around the historic centre many shops were forced to close.
Retailers are worried that more demonstrations will affect their sales seriously over the holiday period at a time when trade is already suffering from the difficult economic situation.
