Colosseum to hike standard ticket price to €16 later this year.
Tickets prices at the Colosseum are set to rise by one third in November when the standard fare will increase from €12 to €16. In addition to the Colosseum this ticket covers entry to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill.
Last year the Colosseum archaeological park launched a ticket known as S.U.P.E.R. (Seven Unique Places to Experience in Rome) offering access to seven Palatine sites which had been rarely, or never, open to the public. They are the Criptoportico Neroniano, Museo Palatino, Aula Isiaca - Loggia Mattei, Casa di Augusto, Casa di Livia, Tempio di Romolo and S. Maria Antiqua.
The S.U.P.E.R sites will be included in a new "Full Experience" ticket also launching in November. This will cost €22, be valid for two days, and will include the Colosseum (including underground / arena), Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and S.U.P.E.R sites.
In 2018 the Colosseum attracted more than 7 million visitors - an average of 21,000 people per day.
