Romes museums open over Easter.
Tourists and residents will be able to visit all of the principle museums and archaeological sites in Italy over the Easter weekend. In Rome the authorities traditionally open all of the city museums on Easter Sunday and Monday. These include the Capitoline museums, the Napoleonic museum, Palazzo Braschi, the Casina delle Civette, Trajans Market, the Planetarium and the Centrale Montemartini.
As well as its museums and archaeological sites, Rome currently offers several exhibitions; Nellocchio di Escher and Imago Urbis Romae at the Capitoline museums (open from 09.00 20.00), I Capolavori del Guggenheim at the Scuderie del Quirinale (Saturday 10.00 22.30, Sunday 10.00 21.00 and Monday 10.00 20.00), over 100 works by Munch at the Vittoriana, entrance in via S. Pietro in Carcere, (open Saturday 09.30 23.30, Sunday 09.30 20.30 and Monday 09.30 19.30), a collection of works by Renato Guttuso at the Chiostro del Bramante (Saturday 10.00 24.00, Sunday and Monday 10.00 21.30).
Two contemporary artists are on show at Macro in Via Reggio Emilia, the sculptor Nunzio and the British artist Jenny Saville, every day 09.00 19.00.
