Rome's talking statues restored
The restoration of the Pasquino statue (near Piazza Navona), done by the ATI Ghia-Equilibrarte, is now complete after almost five months of work. The Pasquino is the most famous of the Talking Statues in Rome, and in the past was always plastered with satirical political notes, often in verse. Now, a board has been put up nearby to encourage people to leave their messages there instead of on the statue.
The other three recently restored talking statues are in high traffic areas of Rome, but they can be easily overlooked if you do not know where to find them. The Abate Luigi statue is found in a corner of Piazza Vidoni on the side of S. Andrea della Valle, but probably hidden behind parked cars. The Madame Lucrezia statue is located in a corner on the side of S. Marco
