Lighting system follows launch of youth hostel at beach-side castle.
The exterior of the recently-restored Castello di S. Severa, located on S. Severa beach about 50km north of Rome, is illuminated at night thanks to a permanent lighting system installed by its owners the Lazio region.The installation of the flood lights is the latest move in the redevelopment of the mediaeval fortress which launched a youth hostel in early May.
The 14-room accommodation, which caters for 42 guests, has been described as "Europe's most beautiful youth hostel" by the president of the Lazio region, Nicola Zingaretti.
