Lega calls for Rome's mayor Virginia Raggi to resign.
A sit-in against Rome's mayor Virginia Raggi has been organised by the right-wing Lega party at city hall on Friday 4 October at 11.00.
Under the hashtag #Raggidimettiti (Raggi resign), the sit-in will be attended by Matteo Salvini, the Lega leader and long-term critic of Raggi, of the Movimento 5 Stelle.
Salvini was quoted in the media on 3 October as saying that Raggi is in "the wrong job, she can go back to being a lawyer, she can be a mamma, she has many talents but these don't include being mayor of Rome."
The sit-in comes amid mounting pressure on Raggi over an escalating rubbish crisis in the capital.
