Snow in Rome
Snow covered the centre of Rome early on the morning of 12 February, the first seen in five years. By mid-morning it was settling and traffic was beginning to have difficulties, especially on the main roads into the city.
The areas most affected were to the south of Rome, in the hills of the Castelli Romani, around the industrial suburb of Pomezia and to the north in Olgiata on the Via Cassia. In the city itself EUR and Monteverdi were the worst hit zones.
